‘Chord’ is a sculptural maquette - or mini sculpture - depicting two abstract forms in close relationship.

Each oak form is pierced with semi-circles or circles. Their different edges and shapes are accentuated by the space that spans between them. They are further set off by the contrasting materials used - a natural oak and blackened oak. One of the forms is elevated on a polished brass bar.

The oak is blackened by scorching before being finished with a plant based oil.
